Hypnosis has been weirdly associated with stage hypnotist, the media and superstitions; which is really a disgrace as hypnosis is your single most effective tools for stop smoking. Hypnosis is your birthright, and before it starts using you, you should know how to use it. Here are some hypnosis myths.

Hypnosis Myth 1) All hypnosis is the same.

Everything in this universe is either good, bad or indifferent, so is hypnosis. “You are getting sleepy, you are feeling confident” is the most used old-style hypnosis statement. Obviously this type of hypnosis doesn’t have any effect on many people. The most effective hypnosis is the one that use subtle psychological principles and complex communication patterns.

One can distinguish between a football coach who thinks you’ll be at the peak of your performance if he shouts or yells at you, compared with a more classic and elegant style of leader who thinks that his players will increase their performance standards, if he understands motivation styles to encourage and reward.

Hypnosis Myth 2) Subliminals work.

Words that you can’t hear are known as subliminals. Logic and common sense say that they should not work, there is also no research that proves that they do.

Hypnosis Myth 3) Some people can't be hypnotized.

If you are possessing extremely low IQ or suffering a brain damage then only you cannot be hypnotized. At the same time one also cannot say that every hypnotist can hypnotize you. If the hypnotist is very experienced and possess flexible methods, then only the hypnotist will be effective with the large audience.

Hypnosis Myth 4) Hypnosis is something weird that other people do to you.

Do you get sleep? Can you learn? Do you get nervous? Well if you experience all the three than you can get hypnotized. You normally feel anxious when you imagine things going wrong, that anxiousness is nothing but self hypnosis.

Hypnosis is simply a deliberate utilization of the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) or dream state. We're not giving people medication here – if it wasn't a natural ability, hypnosis wouldn't work!

Hypnosis Myth 5) You lose control in hypnosis.

Rumors, media, stories, stage hypnotists and gossips have created an illusion that you lose your control over your body and mind in hypnosis. It is actually the total opposite, in hypnosis, you are more relaxed and focused, and have the conscious and sense to get up and walk away from the hypnosis anytime they want. It is all at your discretion, you can give your attention and also withdraw it as and when you want to.

If you have been scared of hypnosis in the past, this article has hopefully convinced you to at least give it a try. But remember, ensure what you're getting is the real thing.
